helping to prepare girls for the challenges of life.
… is a spectacular icebreaker on the subject of careers, from which the pupils go away absolutely fired up about themselves and their lives. The feedback we have had from pupils, schools and sponsors is incredible.
During the play interval, on stage, there is a ‘Panel of guest speakers’ who the pupils all get to ask questions of. This allows for a debate on jobs, qualifications needed, personal skills, character skills, and background, and it is there to challenge perceptions.
The panel consists of exceptional individuals, who have had challenging pasts, who have overcome the odds and have made it in their profession. Usually it’s a panel of five and from a mix of professions, business, media, medicine, journalism, law.
Some famous, others the first of their kind e.g. first female bomb disposal officer, the first UK female fighter pilot, the brother and sister team who set up Coffee Republic, the head of artificial intelligence at Google – whose job didn’t exist when they were at school, they invented their own job, such is the pace of technology.
